Abstract

SABOT, Philippe. Between biopolitics and bioethics: reflections on the prioritization of access to care during epidemics Covid. Nat. hum. [online]. 2021, vol.23, n.2, pp. 1-18. ISSN 1517-2430.

In the present article I try to put in perspective some of the issues raised by the ensuing health crisis of the Covid-19 pandemic, mainly of its biopolitical dimension in contrast to the bioethical challenges. For this, I take as a base a singular problem, the prioritization of patients in access to care, especially intensive care, which allows a deeper reflection regarding the treatment of human lives in conjunction with a concern for biological life and the evarulation of biological life and the evarulation of care of an ethical nature to the experience of the disease by caregivers, patients and their neighbors, particularly when medical resources are lacking to cope with the demands of care.

Keywords : Biopolitics; Bioethics; Health crisis; Triage; Intensive care.
