Abstract

We here offer a description of the behavioral repertory of a group of black-and-gold howler monkeys (Alouatta caraya) observed in a 7 ha florest of Fortaleza dos Valos city, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. 44 behavioral categories were described (maintenance, social, agonistic, vocal, reproductive, parental behaviors). An analysis of intercorrelations of categories and of seasonal changes and is provided.
