SIMONASSI, Lorismario Ernesto; BORGES, Flávio da Siiva e LOJA, Bianca de Oliveira B.. Effect of differential reinforcement of a response class and generalization to another class under instructional control of a mand. Rev. bras. ter. comport. cogn. [online]. 2000, vol.2, n.1, pp. 21-29. ISSN 1517-5545.
This research had as objectives: 1) Analyzing the discrimination of the response class of touch, and the generalization to another response class under control of verbal antecedents. 2) Evaluating the effect of the reinforcement on two response classes, one of touching animals' names and another of writing words. Five undergraduate students participated in the procedure, divided into three phases: base line, training and extinction. After the training and extinction of the touching animals' names response, the participants were given the mand "write 10 words". The results for 4 participants showed that the effects of the reinforcement of a response class have extended to another class under instructional control. It was also verified that the effects of the reinforcement changed the control of the mand as to be precise or imprecise for the writing response. The distinction between verbal and non-verbal responses was approached on basis of the result of this experiment.
