Abstract

SCALA, Cristiana Tieppo. A proposal for intervention in sport psychology. Rev. bras. ter. comport. cogn. [online]. 2000, vol.2, n.1, pp. 53-59. ISSN 1517-5545.

In Sport Psychology, there are many doubts about how to work. There is no agreement, only different ways of intervention. This paper shows a work based on training programs which aim at improving the sports performance. This program is based on the effective techniques that are most found in literature. These techniques are: covered practice or mental training, self-talk, relaxation and goal setting. Working with programs is useful because combined techniques are more effective than isolated ones. Furthermore, programs have time and cost determined, which ease its introduction to the athlete's training and increase the possibility of this work in teams that meet only in competitions.

Keywords : sport psychology; covered practice; self-talk; relaxation; goal setting.
