DELITTI, Alice Maria de Carvalho. Evaluating behavior therapy sessions: a post session questionnaire is an adequate tool?. Rev. bras. ter. comport. cogn. [online]. 2002, vol.4, n.2, pp. 119-133. ISSN 1517-5545.

Therapy outcomes are often evaluated by comparing the client‘s repertoire at the beginning and at the end of the therapeutic procedure. Nevertheless, therapists and clients when evaluating therapy, frequently identify specific sessions either as particularly relevant or as the cause of behavioral changes. The aim of this article is to analyse therapy sessions as a means to develop assessment strategies of the clinical setting. The Session Evaluation Questionnaire (Stiles, 1980) was answered by 10 therapists and 60 clients after chosen sample sessions. Results indicate consistency between their evaluations, which means that both of them considered as significant the same aspects of therapeutic sessions. Therefore, the utility of this kind of instrument is argued, because it does not describe behavior and the present contingencies.
