Abstract
LEITE, Jáder F. and DIMENSTEIN, Magda. Mal-estar na psicologia: a insurreição da subjetividade. Rev. Mal-Estar Subj. [online]. 2002, vol.2, n.2, pp. 9-26. ISSN 1518-6148.
The authors discuss subjectivity by problematizing the hegemonic conceptualizations of the subject as an individualistic experience that is universal, structural and rational. While pointing out that those conceptions have marked american social psychology, they emphasize the epistemologic revisions occuring in Europe and Brazil that allowed for a conceptualization of subjectivity aligned with the social processes. However, it was contemporary philospohers such as Foucault, Deleuze and Guattari that offered the view of subjectivity as a process category in the production area and as active in the social sphere, thereby breaking with the naturalistic and individualistic approaches. The authors conclude that the subjective processes are inseparable from the social sphere and that work with the subjective category allows a view of how human beings relate to the current rules of truth, the reproduction of these rules, and their reconstruction.
