This work intends to pave the way for research aimed at unveiling the relation between the subject and sociocultural and political phenomena, examining changes and impasses regarding subjectivation nowadays and studying social phenomena. The exposition traces the problematization of the Psychoanalysis in extension or extra walls that approaches, via ethics and psychoanalytic conceptions, the difficulties of a subject intertwined in social and political phenomena, and not strictly connected to the situation of clinical treatment. It is a type of research akin to the psychoanalytic research started by Freud and by him called applied psychoanalysis, a field fraught with debates and impasses. The main difficulties in the area are presented and it is shown that it is theoretically and conceptually inserted in psychoanalysis. Several topics and analytical devices concerning the articulation between subject and society, by Freud and Lacan and by contemporary authors are discussed. Methodological issues of the psychoanalytic research dealing with the unconscious and interpretation are discussed. Finally, we debate the indissociability of research and intervention in psychoanalysis.
