The present article is a theoretical study that intends to demonstrate the interaction between contemporary Catholic¹ teaching and Catholic women, regarding to the understanding on the non permission of the priesthood to women. This work deals with the hypothesis that the discourse, of the teaching promotes the women's discrimination and being Brazil a country with high number of Catholics, the cultural-societal sphere is constantly informed for the religious discourse. Starting from the feminist positions among Catholic, a certain antagonism appears to the official positions of the Church 2. However, the centralizing model of this institution has used of strategies that seek to maintain the hegemony of the Christianity's male-domination. Starting from John Paul II letter, ORDINATIO SACERDOTALIS, on the exclusiveness men's priesthood , and feminist's positions of the Latin-American t theology, I intend to signal some articulations between the individual and the collective in the Catholic woman's identity and some obstacles that they face for to enjoy your citizenship inside of the Catholicism.
