Abstract

MORENO GARCIA, Elisa. Sufismo y psicología. Rev. Mal-Estar Subj. [online]. 2005, vol.5, n.1, pp. 161-173. ISSN 1518-6148.

In this article I would like to present the underlying contradictions of trying to assimilate a religious doctrine - Sufism in this case-, with Psychology or Psychoanalysis in some theoretical concepts and some practices, as well. Referring to the statements of two eminent Psychiatrists, being both of them Sufi Masters too, there is an attempt to make compatible the field of science with religious faith, which is, in fact, a rather difficult task. I will focus on two concepts: ego and transference, used both from the perspective of Sufism, quite different from the Psychological knowledge.

Keywords : sufism; mystic; transference; ego; nafs-e amm ara.
