This article intends to expand the knowledge about the process of mourning and loss under the perspective of the Theory of Attachment proposed by Bowlby. It intends to understand the formation and continuity of the primary affective links, as well as how such links are related with the feelings of mourning and loss. The article also addresses the ambiguous loss, as sustained by Boss, as an important phenomenon that affects both the individual and the family. The article considers "divorce" as an event of ambiguity, thus highlighting the importance of studies about the matter.
