PROCHNO, Caio César Souza Camargo; PARAVIDINI, João Luiz Leitão  e  CUNHA, Cristina Martins. Marks of the parental alienation in the contemporary society: a missing part in the parental ethics. Rev. Mal-Estar Subj. [online]. 2011, vol.11, n.4, pp. 1461-1490. ISSN 1518-6148.

Analyzing the history of the western family, it turns out that the profile has undergone profound changes. Between the 19th and 20th centuries there has been a fall of patriarchal society (in which the motto is the indissolubility of the marriage) to a new social behavior governed by more free relationships, due to the advent of new social, economic and cultural parameters. The incentive to the consumption and the arrival of the birth-control pill structured relationships consistent with capitalist commandments, whose ideological guidelines are the liquidity and the non-permanence. Such changes have included women in the labor market and, consequently, led to the husband cooperation in domestic care and children education. A collection of relationships becomes part of personal habits, reaffirming the logic prevailing in a capitalist society. Relationships originate without the purpose of forming strong bonds, which leads, most of the time, to a psychological unpreparedness in the context of marital separations and, therefore, people start to misbehave in relation to their ex-partners. Children are used as a revenge instrument. The guardian parent instills in the children hostile feelings in relation to the no-guardian parent. The parental alienation begins to act and the children ends hating one parent and perceiving the no-guardian as an intruder. This practice is a reflex of the insubstantial bonds that prevails in contemporary society. It is a social production that provokes not only amazement and repugnance, but mainly a discomfort in society. With the objective of discussing this subject, a reflection based in the psychoanalytic perspective proposed by Fábio Herrmann, who theorizes on the Principle of Absurd that hangs in social phenomena, is presented. In search of perfection, men have found comfort, however, in a contradictory way, unreasonable impact in interpersonal relationships also occurred.
