This article presents a reflection on how the collective subjectivity is manifested in a P'urhepecha community located in the State of Michoacan, Mexico, through two major celebrations: Souls Day and Christmas. After a description of the context in which research is conducted, it performs a deconstructive analysis on the concept of identity, and then defines some important aspects to be considered for the construction of collective subjectivities in the Indian context, but can be applied to non-indigenous groups as well. Starting from these ideas it reports how these festivities are carried out. The first festivity, Souls Day, is celebrated on first and 2nd November, while the other, has its climax on 24 December, but is prepared during several months before and the festivities last until December 28. Finally, it discuss the collective subjectivity manifestations that take place on these parties, once these events are of ancient origin and combine native elements with those learned from colonial era missionaries, but in accordance with a concept of a dynamic "subjectivity", in ongoing construction and renovation, are adapted to cultural changes.
