This Article, result of studies of the extension project: "the yard the house", it discusses the role of culture in the promotion of human life. From the bibliographic several with vary authors, who hold different meanings as yard, parties and communities developed as expressions of culture throughout history. The yard, i.e. the space after the construction of the House, was considered by many cultures, an intimate place, situated in private space, public space. Was in the yard where people could cry and sing for joy and sadness, pray facing god and devil, and also confabulate, joke and celebrate since it is value of "food in primary source" until of sense feast today for the western world - which inherit by virtue of colonization. For yard, parties and productive communities as spaces for excellence, in which develop actions, of different shapes and intentions, which enable to communicate, interact, share memory and culture, create new connections, music and literature, working with the immaterial using which is more common: language, intelligence, imagination, creating means for inventiveness, shooting creativity. The article argues for recognition of what will be the cultural present in the communities in which people are inserted and discusses the importance of its preservation to resist of disruption the "idiorhythm" and slowness imposed by the haste and speed dominant in the current world, but so necessary to social interactions and human growth.
