Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by impairment in communication, social and behavioral interaction. In general, the family and caregivers are the first to identify behavioral changes in the child. Families who have children with autism spectrum disorder have a high level of concern about their children's well-being, the period and the conditions under which they will remain assisted. In this way, the family is considered an important agent in the treatment and support, being an integral part of the treatment. The present study aims to analyze articles related to stress and quality of life of relatives and / or caregivers of children with ASD. The articles analyzed highlight the importance of monitoring parents and caregivers of children with ASD, indicating possible factors that may interfere with their stress and quality of life. Based on the analysis of the presented articles, it was concluded that there is a need for more research on the impact of ASD on the quality of life and stress of caregivers and family members in Brazil, in order to contemplate the social reality and socioeconomic characteristics of the country.
