Abstract

RUELLA, Ivani Alves Satlher  and  AMATO, Cibelle Albuquerque de la Higuera. Autism pupils' social-familiar characterization who are assisted by a philanthropic institution in Rio de Janeiro state interior. Cad. Pós-Grad. Distúrb. Desenvolv. [online]. 2019, vol.19, n.1, pp. 98-125. ISSN 1519-0307.  http://dx.doi.org/10.5935/cadernosdisturbios.v19n1p98-125.

Although they do not yet have defined biological markers, autistic spectrum disorders (ASD) belong to the category called neurodevelopmental disorder, present since childhood indicating deficits in the areas: sociocommunicative and behavioral. The present descriptive research with quantitative and qualitative approach had the objective of characterizing the social-familiar of the students with ASD attended by a philanthropic care institution in the interior of the State of Rio de Janeiro. 49 families participated in the study. The analyzes obtained in the present study confirm that, in the current scenario, the disabled person has minimal or non-existent accessibility in relation to their rights. The results also ensure that some environmental risks are manifested by the precarious supply or absence of public policies aimed at the care of people with ASD and their families. The data collected in socio-family characterizations, as proposed in this study, can also be added to other data from studies carried out in the health area, school performance, communication, socialization, sensorial profiles, among others, collected through specific assessment instruments mentioned in numerous research in the area of developmental disorders.

Keywords : Disabled people; Autism spectrum disorder (ASD); International classification of Functioning (ICF); Bioecological theory; Socialfamiliar characterization.
