This article aims to provide reflections on the impacts of playing on childhood development aspects, specifying the need for interventions that stimulate the playing practice of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Since the experience of playing passes through biopsichosocial field, it is necessary to think how this process affects children with ASD in front of the quirks of relating to others and to the world. The theoretical review was produced based on Vygotsky's social-historic perspective, through books and theoretical surveys of publications between years 2010 and 2020, selected from digital platforms. As a result, it is understood that the incentive of experiences provided by playing promotes an enrichment of psychological structures, leading to the construction of increasingly independents individuals. Such ability cannot be limited when it comes to children with ASD, whose, through appropriated mediation and incentive, have conditions to develop themselves by playing.
