Abstract

RABINOVICH, Elaine Pedreira  and  BASTOS, Ana Cecília Sousa. Carmo or why a Quilombo does not want to be a Quilombo. Rev. psicol. polít. [online]. 2007, vol.7, n.14, pp. 0-0. ISSN 2175-1390.

This is a report of an experience occurred in a community originated from a quilombo (a slave settlement) in which the method of “participant observation” revealed the researcher as a historical character which actions have a political meaning. It describes the events that pointed to the method as engaged and not apart from politics, organized as: the law of silence; the progress; the forgotten and hidden parts of their history; the dynamics of the group. Final considerations suggested explanations for its death as a quilombo and to the research’s action as a political action.

Keywords : Method; Politics; Psychology; Quilombo; History.
