Abstract

DOUVILLE, Olivier. War children and adolescents and their relationship with ancestrality. Rev. psicol. polít. [online]. 2010, vol.10, n.19, pp. 151-168. ISSN 2175-1390.

This article is a synthesis of eight years of clinical work near wandering children and teenagers who have encountered war and run away from it, having been sometimes death carriers or threatened subjects. This clinical work which takes place in the context of Bamako’s infantile psychiatry has been realized thanks a non governmental organization: SAMU Social Mali (Malian Social and Medical Service). The NGO’s method of work is moulded on French Social SAMU but is reduced to a simple principle: to go and see wandering children and teenagers who are in extreme danger following a threefold approach based on medicine, psychology and education.

Keywords : Adolescence; Ancestrality; African culture; War; Exclusion.
