Abstract

FACCI, Marilda Gonçalves Dias. Is school for few?: The positivity of school in a psychological development of the students in a Vygotskyan view. Rev. psicol. polít. [online]. 2010, vol.10, n.20, pp. 315-328. ISSN 2175-1390.

In my professional practice, on the branch of School Psychology, I encounter, every moment, students who do not manage to learn and who have displayed distress in relation to this. Towards such a fact, I have traced - as an objective of this article - to talk about the need to comprehend the importance of school in the psychological development of the students, referring to the principles of cultural-historical psychology, which is based on Marxism. The text will be focused on Vitor and Daniele’s story, who, very early, understand that school is for few. For the discussion, I introduce, at a first moment, aspects of the methodological question at the school of Vigostki and, forthwith, issues that display the relation between appropriation of scientific knowledge and development of psychological superior functions. In the conclusion of the text, I defend an idea that every student must have access to scientific knowledge to become humanized.
