This article discusses psychological practices and their relation to the constitution of public policies regarding sexual diversity. With this goal we used the concept of governmentality to understand the production of State's rules and interventions as well as the transformation of the sexuality device (dispositive), following a foucaultian perspective. We will briefly describe Psychology's history in order to contextualize the emergence of practices and its direct relation to subjectivities' constitution related to public policies regarding sexual diversity. Finally we will point out some aspects of the current psychological theory and practice that may contribute to new propositions in the governmental and non-governmental propositions regarding sexual diversity.

Keywords : Psychology; Public policies; Sexual diversity; Governmentality; Heteronormativity.
