This paper discusses some of the 16 projects implemented by the National Institute of Developmental Psychiatry (INPD) strategies. In order to analyse some contemporary psychiatry practices we take in consideration the prevention technologies. These analyses are supported by Foucault's concept of bio power. Some of these practices tend to naturalize the notions of vulnerability and risk, especially those that have been called assistance policies. Therefore, using the concept of prevention as a tool enables us to raise an ethical and political debate of the INPD propositions, pointing them as governance practices of life that present themselves as true because they are efficient and scientific.
