Abstract

The paper presents a historical review of the emergence of Political Psychology in Colombia from 1973 to 2012. At first emphasizes the role of six psychologists who defined the initial conditions for the development of the area in the country. Also is exposed a balance of publications, topics, authors and regions of Colombia where has been done in Political Psychology. It concludes that it is an area which currently aims to investigate, reflect and intervene from theoretical frameworks of social, community and liberation psychology, and social sciences. All contents are relevant to political affairs of Colombia. Not identified methodologies predominant. It claims the political role of the psychologist in their exercise as a citizen, academic and professional.
