ACOSTA, Yorelis J.. (In)Visibility of Political Psychology in Venezuela. Rev. psicol. polít. [online]. 2012, vol.12, n.25, pp. 531-548. ISSN 1519-549X.

The aim of this paper is to describe the origin and development of political psychology in Venezuela based on structural (institutionalization of the area) and academic (topics, theories and research methods) criteria. From the definition of political psychology as the interaction between the political and psychological processes and phenomena, the information was collected and organized with the aid of academic information from the 60, when the first works appeared, until 2011. This was accomplished by using real sources (interviews with psychologists) and bibliography that existed in the universities, where courses undergraduate and graduate courses in psychology were part of the curricula. It included publications in journals, texts, undergraduate and graduate thesis and abstracts presented in scientific meetings.

Keywords : History; Psychology; Politics; Political Psychology; Venezuela.
