Abstract

SIXIREI, Carlos. Sexuality, impure races and control religious colombia colonial. Rev. psicol. polít. [online]. 2013, vol.13, n.26, pp. 25-36. ISSN 1519-549X.

The article aims to analyze the religious control over interracial sex in a colonized society: Colombia. In this context, sexuality, in its various manifestations, became a very important issue during colonial period. It was relevant both for sociability as for integration and miscegenation that could never be controlled by the Church. This contributed in a decisive way to create a multiethnic and multicultural society divided into castes, but not so divided to the point to prevent fluid relationships between all of them in one of the few fields in which all could participate in a relatively egalitarian way.

Keywords : Sex; Colonialism; Religiosity; Race; Woman.
