MARTINS, Luiz Alberto Moreira  y  PEIXOTO JUNIOR, Carlos Augusto. Displacements in Governmentality: subjectivation as ethical political resistance in Foucault. Rev. psicol. polít. [online]. 2013, vol.13, n.27, pp. 245-259. ISSN 1519-549X.

This paper attempts to give an account of the elements and issues referred to by Michel Foucault in the development of governmentality and government concepts, looking into the shift in emphasis in his research from the axis of power to the axis of subjectivation and ethics. The hypothesis presented points out that the notions of conduct and counter conduct derived from studies on Christian pastoral were essential both for the construction of the concept of governmentality as well as for the creation of the axis of subjectivation. The creation of the latter is related to an ethics and politics issue: how can, by taking care of oneself, by subjectivation practices, an ethical political resistance to domination be created? In conclusion, the emergence of subjectivation and ethics in Foucault's thought does not represent in any way a rupture from research in power relations and political domain.
