Abstract

SIXIREI, Carlos. Three decades of democracy in Latin America: a reflection. Rev. psicol. polít. [online]. 2014, vol.14, n.30, pp. 225-242. ISSN 1519-549X.

It is developed in this work a reflection on democracy in Latin America over the past three decades, the problems derived from their redeployment and the challenges to which it is subjected. The New World March characterized by the triumph of globalization and the emergence of new ideologies, conditioned the democratic reinstatement donate so that made it impossible to return to pre democratic populist models. Everywhere it was noticed the same State shrinkage in those regimes (Chavez, kirchner...) who fought to put the state at the center of decisions. There was to reach agreements with market forces, as issues such as the price of raw materials or the payment of the foreign debt are not exclusively under government control. That said of course there is need for a reflection that looks these elements in perspective.

Keywords : Democracy; Latin America, Ideology; Globalization; Political Psychology.
