Abstract

ROSA, Leandro Amorim. Political participation: dialogues between political consciousness and political praxis. Rev. psicol. polít. [online]. 2015, vol.15, n.33, pp. 391-403. ISSN 1519-549X.

It is proposed articulate two theoretical proposals on political participation: the political consciousness model of Salvador Sandoval and political praxis from Vygotsky and Gramsci. The joints will address aspects of the social construction of participation and hegemony; everyday life and common sense; emotions and psychological systems. The approximation of approaches indicates possibilities of understanding of political participation through the intertwining of cognitive and affective elements, as well as subjective and social. While acknowledging the initial character of the statements, it's underlined the potential of the discussion proposed here. Political consciousness is configured as psychosocial component directly bonded to political praxis. The relationships and features of the dimensions of political consciousness are built from the subjects' social experiences, being the current ideological atmosphere its main limiting factor.

Keywords : Political Participation; Political Consciousness; Political Praxis; Vygotsky; Gramsci.
