Abstract

Homophobia is the term used to describe any type of discrimination directed at homosexuals, it should be analyzed in social contexts in which it occurs. The aim of this paper is to analyze the possible contributions from psychology relating to homophobia in school, considering online publications Psychology entities and, from this material, discuss contributions to addressing this issue, especially when it occurs in the school context. Therefore, we conducted a documentary analysis starting from psychology entities publications as a science and profession, available in five institutions psychology sites in Brazil between 2010 and 2015. The results suggest that, despite the development of campaigns and joints psychology entities on homophobia in school, there is still much to be done in this field.
