Abstract

OLIVEIRA, Eveline Nogueira Pinheiro de; MOITA, Dimitre Sampaio  and  AQUINO, Cassio Adriano Braz de. The Entrepreneur in the Age of Precarious Work: relations between entrepreneurship and precariousness on work. Rev. psicol. polít. [online]. 2016, vol.16, n.36, pp. 207-226. ISSN 1519-549X.

He present paper results of theoretical researches on the relations between two phenomena of labor world: entrepreneurship and precariousness on work. We observe, at the same time, a precarious work era and an entrepreneurship boom, under speeches of "start your own business" and "be your own boss". Thus, a great amount of Brazilians is searching self-employed activities, which tend to be more volatile and unpredictable. Understanding entrepreneurship as a work category broadly disseminated in Brazilian context as a path for success and development, we seek to expose the basis to perceive how such process takes place in the present labor world conformation, that is, in which way entrepreneurship takes shape in the precarious work era. Taking into account the historical building of the concepts of entrepreneurship and precariousness, as well as its developments in both Brazilian and global context, we seek to understand in which sense the entrepreneur practice constitutes a scape from an oppressive model in search of autonomy and how it can be seen as a practice that reproduces new (and old) genres of precariousness on work.

Keywords : Entrepreneurship; Entrepreneur; Precariousness; Precarious Work.
