Abstract

CONCEICAO, Hevelyn Rosa Machert da. Colective health and social movement. Rev. psicol. polít. [online]. 2017, vol.17, n.39, pp. 247-260. ISSN 1519-549X.

This article is the result of a masters research and aims to discuss the relationship between different social movements in the 1970s and the birth of a new field of practices and knowledge: Collective Health. We start from a contextualisation of the national scenario in the health area and then analyze the formation of social movements and their role in the debate on the health situation and health reform. The methodology aims to look at a heterogeneous history as events are not seen as linear blocks locked in the past, enabling their use in the present time. Based on this analysis, we affirm the plural constitution of Collective Health and its power as a problem-generating, inventive field capable of creating new questions for health field that cross disciplinary boundaries and enable other constructions of knowledge.

Keywords : social movements; Collective Health; public policies; interdisciplinarity.
