Abstract

GARCIA, Luciano Nicolás. Utopia and Scientific Thinking: Reflections from the Soviet Psychology case. Rev. psicol. polít. [online]. 2019, vol.19, n.44, pp. 131-146. ISSN 2175-1390.

This article considers scientists as full intellectuals in order to locate and discuss the links between utopian imagination and scientific thinking in relation to public policies. This is carried out, on the one hand, by making an analysis of a historical case, the way in which Soviet psychology inserted and projected itself in the scientific policies of the Soviet Union during the 20th century. On the other hand, recent positions on the relationship between science and utopia from a series of authors with anti-establishment stands are considered. Finally, based on the mentioned case and positions, the place of utopia in the thought of psychological science is discussed and a way of understanding it is proposed.
