Abstract

SILVA, Ana Cecília Ramos Ferreira da  and  MESQUITA, Marcos Ribeiro. Intersectionality and political participation: the experience ofyoung black feminist women. Rev. psicol. polít. [online]. 2020, vol.20, n.48, pp. 339-354. ISSN 2175-1390.

Young black feminist women who are part of a political dispute scenario in the city of Maceió are at the center of this research debate. It is a study that aims to analyze how these young women understand the intersectionality of gender, generation and race within the political spaces in which they act. The main methodological tool used was the semi-structured interview. This method along with the field observations were analyzedfrom an intersectional feminist perspective. Regarding the participation in the movements they integrate, they criticize the processes that marginalize their presence by reinforcing the logics of exclusion and oppression, which continue to deny race issues and hold debates unrelated to generational and class issues.

Keywords : Gender; Generation; Race; Feminisms; Intersectionality.
