Abstract

MALFRAN, Yarlenis Mestre  and  OLIVEIRA, João Manuel de. An intersectional approach to citizenship trans in Cuba. Rev. psicol. polít. [online]. 2020, vol.20, n.48, pp. 448-461. ISSN 2175-1390.

This article discusses the configuration of trans* citizenship in Cuba, taking into consideration several sources, focusing on the uses and effects of policies. We analyse the Resolution 126 of2008 of the Ministery of Public Health for the attention to transsexuals, the story of an informant and national academic productions that discuss the subject. Our analysis fundamentally is based on the perspective of intersectionality, concluding that a public policy for trans* citizenship in Cuba is urgent to incorporate gender in an intersectional perspective, as a guarantee of an inclusive and transformational agenda of intersectional vulnerabilities that limit lives and the rights of trans * people.
