Abstract

MAHEIRE, Katia et al. Tensions in the field of politician and professional practice of social assistence. Rev. psicol. polít. [online]. 2020, vol.20, n.49, pp. 667-687. ISSN 2175-1390.

This article aims to point challenges and possibilities that arise in the daily lives of CRAS workers. Based on Jacques Rancière, we analyze tensions in the field and their consequences in professional practices. Therefore, 42 workers answered a questionnaire and participated in collective interviews. To proceed with the analysis, we elaborate here two categories: the relationship between CRAS/ managers/PNAS; and working conditions, routines and practices. The results indicate a tension between models of care, a charitable assistance, focused on the logic of the minimal State, and another advocated by the Constitution of 88, as well as two logics of action, one focused on collective actions and the family, and another on individualization and judicialization of life. But, they indicate, at the same time, an exercise in reinventing teams, guided by processes of denaturalization and de-identification, as well as the construction of strategies to collectivize demands and build intersectoral networks.
