FEITOSA, Maria Zelfa De Souza  e  BOMFIM, Zulmira Aurea Cruz. Originating peoples in contexts of social inequality: affectivity and well-being as modes of ethical-political (re) existence. Rev. psicol. polít. [online]. 2020, vol.20, n.49, pp. 719-734. ISSN 2175-1390.

The original ways of life are based on ethically and politically committed relationships with a culture of life, based on complementarity and deep coexistence with everything that exists. From this, strategies of (re) existence derive that are opposed to the western conception and guarantee the preservation of the indigenous identity. We aim to discuss the categories of affection and good living as proposals for the (re) existence of native peoples, in contexts of social inequality. Inspired by social psychology with a historical-cultural basis, we approached the Pitaguary people in Ceará, guided by ethnography, which resulted in the field diary and life history reports of leaders, submitted to thematic content analysis. Our results point to well-being and affection as ways of (re) existing indigenous people, based on the culture of promoting life. We consider that the indigenous proposal makes the cosmic balance viable and presents itself as an alternative to Western culture, given the risks derived from the exacerbated exploitation of nature.
