Abstract

HUR, Domênico Uhng. Populismo: debates entre psicología política latinoamericana y psicoanálisis. Rev. psicol. polít. [online]. 2021, vol.21, n.50, pp. 87-102. ISSN 2175-1390.

ABSTRACT This article aims to present the main theoretical frameworks of populism for research in Latin American Political Psychology, to debate them with concepts of group psychoanalysis and discuss its operation. A bibliographic review and a theoretical discussion were conducted about the phenomenon of populism. The main theoretical references in the field are works of the Argentinian thinker Ernesto Laclau and the Chilean political psychologist Alexandre Dorna. We presented some of their ideas and concepts from Didier Anzieu's and Wilfred Bion's psychoanalysis, which we consider important in order to understand this phenomenon. In conclusion, we synthetized the main characteristics of populism: it is a logic and not an ideology; it constitutes a group opposed to an outside; it produces a common imaginary configuration; the affections play a fundamental role; it may act for an ideal of transcendence and is a mode of managing the populations in neoliberal societies.

Keywords : Populism; Government; Groups; Psychoanalysis; Political Psychology.
