Abstract

SANTOS, Rafael Silva dos et al. Political mobilization in pandemic times: the MST's performance in focus. Rev. psicol. polít. [online]. 2021, vol.21, n.52, pp. 814-831. ISSN 2175-1390.

The present work aimed to investigate the MST's political mobilization actions in the scenario of the pandemic, from its virtual media, seeking to highlight the purpose and actors to whom these actions are aimed. The exploratory field of data production for the present research dealt with the main social media used by the MST: Youtube, Instagram, Twitter and its own website. Four categories emerged from the thematic analysis process of the data: health promotion and prevention actions; solidarity actions; artistic and cultural actions; and actions of confrontation and political articulation. The movement's praxiological accumulations are materialized in the new strategies of struggle, such as the unity of the working class to defend their lives, incorporating symbolic and identity elements of popular struggles, contestation of the current political crisis scenario, construction of equitable solutions anchored in agroecology, from the perspective of solidarity and socialist principles and values.
