Abstract

SHIRAKAVA, Rafael da Silva  and  DIONISIO, Gustavo Henrique. Damaged life and authority leadership: Decline of the individual and fascist agitation in Adorno. Rev. psicol. polít. [online]. 2022, vol.22, n.53, pp. 52-68. ISSN 2175-1390.

The article aims to analyze some aspects of damaged life, as described in Theodor W. Adorno's aphorisms in the work Minima moralia (1951/1993), and its relations with the emergence of authoritarian leadership, especially with regard to the fascist movement discourse and the adherence of individuals to this type of group. In order to do so, we analyzed Adorno's essays on the North American Fascist agitation which, for this thinker, is largely aligned with the Hitlerian recipes used in Germany in the 1930s.

Keywords : Theodor W. Adorno; Damaged life; Authoritarianism; Critical Theory.
