MARTINS, Karina Oliveira. Vacate now! I want to take class: Psychosocial aspects that motivate the Desocupa Movement. Rev. psicol. polít. [online]. 2022, vol.22, n.53, pp. 105-122. ISSN 2175-1390.

The movement to occupy educational institutions in 2016 against the Proposal for Constitutional Amendment 241/55 was a milestone in the country's recent history. In reaction to this movement came the "Desocupa" movement, which despite not being very expressive is a relevant movement to understand the current Brazilian Right. In this research, such movement is interpreted through documentary analysis of their social networks. Psychosocial aspects present in the mobilization of the "Desocupa" movement are apprehended from the categories of Daily Life by Agnes Heller and Political Consciousness of Salvador Sandoval. It identifies the defense of particularity, a symbolic defense of the Self and the presence of everyday consciousness as a central element to the movement, an embryonic political identity, a well-defined collective goal and the belief in the political effectiveness of the movement itself, values, norms, specific expectations to the capitalist mode of production and a defense of political neutrality and plurality, among other issues.
