Abstract

BATISTA, Eraldo Carlos; FERREIRA, Guilherme Severo; CHAISE, Rodrigo Falcão  and  ROCHA, Kátia Bones. Public policies from the perspective of people remaining from quilombos of Guaporé Valley. Rev. psicol. polít. [online]. 2022, vol.22, n.53, pp. 183-199. ISSN 2175-1390.

The aim of this study was to identify and understand the meanings produced by remnants of quilombos from communities in the Guaporé Valley about the sociopolitical and psychosocial context in which they live. As a methodological strategy, a qualitative approach was used from the perspective of Discursive Psychology. Ten quilombo remnants from two communities in the Guaporé Valley, in the state of Rondônia, were interviewed. The information was analyzed according to the Discourse Analysis technique, based on the identification of three interpretative repertoires: (a) agrarian policies and disputed territories: "Here we live under pressure"; (b) educational policies: discontinuities, precariousness and distance; and (c) health policies and lack of investment. There is a collective perception among the participants of discouragement in face of territorial conflicts and lack of investments in public health and education. Furthermore, the distance between professionals who serve the communities and the local culture is understood as an impediment to the quality of services.
