Abstract

ALVES, Lucas de Oliveira; BLOSS, Gerusa Morgana; ZANELLA, Andrea Vieira  and  MARSILLAC, Ana Lúcia Mandelli. Contemporary art in the city: Tensions and strangements in the work "bloody bundles" by Artur Barrio. Rev. psicol. polít. [online]. 2022, vol.22, n.53, pp. 232-245. ISSN 2175-1390.

This article aims to analyze some effects of the work "Bloody Bundles", by the artist Artur Barrio. Starting from articulations and concepts of theorists who establish a dialogue between art, politics and subjectivity, such as Didi-Huberman, Walter Benjamin and Jacques Rancière, we propose to reflect on contemporary art in some historical and political aspects. Next, we focus on the tensions and estrangements that Barrio's work, produced in a disruptive and unconventional way in the context of the city, provokes in the subjectivities and bodies - subject's bodies and political bodies.

Keywords : Art; City; Contemporary; Strange; Political.
