The character of Hannibal Lecter, as well as that of the serial killer, has been drawing the media attention, with great popularity and so taking veritable mythical aspects. In this paper I endeavor to unravel the mythical roots of the serial killer in the movies and literature, as well as the relationship between these characters and today’s culture tendency to de-humanization and depersonalization. I also refer to the film "Little Murders", as a term of comparison
