Resumen

The ego formation and the power of psychoanalysis. Cogito [online]. 2010, vol.11, pp. 20-25. ISSN 1519-9479.

The author reviews the concept of ego, both in Freud´s theory as in Lacan. He investigates the origin of this instance, in accordance with the vision of these two psychoanalists, and emphasizes the major differences between the two theories. Finally, he concludes this paper discussing the role and dynamics of the ego in an analysis.
