Abstract

DIAMANTINO, Rui Maia. Time, time, time, time: the time in psychoanalysis in liquid times. Cogito [online]. 2011, vol.12, pp. 30-35. ISSN 1519-9479.

Freud in his article “Analysis terminable and interminable”, 1937, discusses the duration of an analysis and the possibility of shortening the duration or not, as it recognizes "the inconveniently long term analytic treatment." Lacan, in Écrits, discuss the temporal structure of the logical process embedded in the production of significant, specifying the time modulation of the movement of sophistry: the time to look, the time to understand and the moment to conclude. These times are correlated with the three times of analysis proposed by Freud: to remember, to repeat and to elaborate. So there are times that the duration of an analysis. Zygmunt Bauman proposes the concept of "liquid time". At this time, in which there is phagocytosis of time in everyday life, a realtime marked by the cyber environment, immediacy which makes it zero between demand and response, the time of the unconsciousness makes the analysis feasible for a device made in contemporary subjectivity? This paper undertakes a few attempts to elucidate this question, fundamental, in the author's view, to put Psychoanalysis in “liquid culture”.

Keywords : liquide culture; liquide time; logical time; analysis; Psychoanalysis.
