Abstract

This paper endeavors to reach a better understanding of the mechanisms of memory and of forgetfulness, underlining the importance not only of what is remembered but, especially, of how the possibility of forgetfulness is paramount to the formation of our memories. There is an emphasis in the concept of memory as a construct, an in the application of this concept to Psychoanalisis.
