CAMARA, Gabriel. The trauma, the original fantasy and the Oedipus. Cogito [online]. 2011, vol.12, pp. 57-61. ISSN 1519-9479.

The author makes a historical review of the concept of trauma in the Freudian theory, pointing to a change in the term’s meaning over time. Opposes the fantasy theory to the trauma’s theory to emphasize the primacy of the first one and highlight the structuring role of the original fantasy, as derived from the Oedipus complex of each subject. Finally, he asks what role is reserved for the concept of trauma in current psychoanalytic theory and reasons why the neurotic reports fantasies camouflaged with traumatic contents.
