Abstract

COELHO, Maria Thereza Ávila Dantas. Parricide in Freud’s work. Cogito [online]. 2011, vol.12, pp. 69-73. ISSN 1519-9479.

The aim of this paper is to discuss the development of psychoanalysis, from parricide in Freud's work. To this end, I work with the notion of ‘deffered action’, with the freudian experience of reading the writer Dostoievski and its effects on his work. I highlight three texts written and published by Freud on different dates: Totem and Tabu (1913), Dostoievski and Parricide (1928) and Moisés and Monotheism (1939). I argue that these three texts are woven together, so that the second meant the first and the third, the two previous, allowing the placement of parricide in the genesis of hysterical attack, monotheism, artistic creation and transmission of psychoanalysis.

Keywords : psychoanalysis; deffered action; parricide; Freud; Dostoievski.
