Resumen

PEREZ JIMENEZ, Miguel Ángel. Mind and relevance. Univ. Psychol. [online]. 2006, vol.5, n.2, pp. 385-396. ISSN 1657-9267.

The paper is an introduction to some problems of the contemporary Philosophy of Mind. The thesis is that a conceptual study of the psychological expressions in ordinary language could be relevant in our scientific-oriented times. The scientific point of view in psychology could lead us to forget the value of understanding the mental for every person in his or her daily life, beside the scientific explanations that a theorist could provide. The first part of the paper is an exposition of some epistemological and ontological debates in the Philosophy of Psychology in which we offer many quotations and references to introduce the reader directly, by him or herself, into the study of the issues. The second part exposes an interpretation of Wittgenstein’s philosophy of mind. In the third part, we raise the question about the value of the Wittgenstein’s ideas in the context of theoretical psychology debates.

Palabras clave : Wittgenstein Ludwig, 1889-1951; Philosophy of Mind; Philosophy of Psychology.
