Abstract

YANEZ, César Jiménez  and  SOTO, Yessica Martínez. Visiones y Representaciones de Estudiantes a Través del Dibujo. Rev. Mex. Orient. Educ. [online]. 2011, vol.8, n.21, pp. 24-31. ISSN 1665-7527.

The relationship between discourse and pedagogical practice is not always coherent, which generates in itself an important paradox. The agreements and/or disagreements between discourse and practice within the field of education and the orientation of the students that choose to pursue a career in education (pedagogy, teaching) are where our work is mainly focused. The objective is to get to know the vision and perception of what is and what education represents for these students for which we carried out a semiotics workshop in which students from several teaching schools throughout the state of Baja California in Mexico were asked to express their particular perception on education through a drawing. By analyzing these graphic representations we are able to determine how the students conceive the education process and their role in such process. In same way, thanks to the symbolic elements that were used by the students in their drawings we can identify and relate those elements to the content of their discourses in regards to the process of social construction about education.

Keywords : Education; drawing; social representation; professional training.
