For a long period of time, it has been seen the rebirth of several approaches and models of Guidance. The purpose is to bring a theoretical support to the practices that are made upon this professional field. These approaches and models of Guidance have been developed all over the world, including Latin America. Nowadays, it seems that the Latin American countries should initiate or reinitiate a reconsideration process of our theoretical bases, fundamental approaches or models. So, this paper aims to present some basic criteria for the development of a Guidance Model for Latin America.
